Pay attention to topics like AI; more automation is required: PM Modi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said India needs to speed up efforts to connect its education system with the real-world economy. Speaking at a post-budget webinar, he stressed the need to increase focus on modern subjects such as artificial intelligence, automation, the digital economy and design-driven manufacturing.
Modi said India is moving toward an innovation-driven economy, and the education sector must prepare students with skills that match industry needs. He noted that stronger links between education and the economy will help create a workforce ready for new technologies and future industries.
The prime minister also highlighted the government's work in improving the country’s healthcare system. He said India is focusing on preventive and holistic healthcare and that health infrastructure has expanded in recent years. According to him, medical colleges have been opened in many districts, increasing access to medical education and healthcare services.
Modi added that through the Ayushman Bharat scheme and Arogya Mandirs, healthcare services are reaching villages across the country. He also said traditional Indian practices such as Yoga and Ayurveda are gaining popularity worldwide.
The prime minister said these initiatives together will support India’s development and help build a stronger, innovation-focused economy. (PTI)
