Manas-1, an AI brain model created by deep tech company NeuroDx, can decode human brain activity

NeuroDx Develops 400-Million-Parameter AI Brain Language Model ‘Manas-1’ for Early Neurological Diagnostics

Deeptech startup NeuroDx.ai on Tuesday announced the development of a 400-million-parameter artificial intelligence brain language model, Manas-1, designed to decode the electrical activity of the human brain and improve neurological diagnostics.

According to founder Siddharth Panwar, the model is aimed at transforming neuroscience diagnostics by enabling earlier detection of brain disorders and supporting more accurate treatment decisions.

Panwar said the company has submitted Manas-1 to the Government of India for evaluation and validation under emerging standards for sovereign AI assets. Approval under this framework would also make the project eligible for government-backed funding, which the company plans to use to further enhance and scale the system.

He added that NeuroDx intends to expand the model from 400 million to 2 billion parameters over the coming months as part of its next development phase.

Using Manas-1, the company reports achieving more than 95 percent accuracy in identifying biomarkers linked to epilepsy and several mental health conditions. The model analyzes physiological and neural signal patterns to support clinical interpretation.

Panwar said the system forms part of a broader research initiative to build what he described as India’s first foundation-scale physiological state model — a platform capable of interpreting human biosignals to generate advanced neurological and health insights.

Highlighting the sector’s growth potential, he said AI-driven healthcare and neuroscience tools present significant opportunities, adding that the company is targeting global-quality benchmarks in performance and reliability.
