Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw said India received strong support from global industry leaders during the World Economic Forum (WEF) meeting in Davos, especially in the fields of semiconductors and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Speaking on Friday, the minister said top leaders from the global semiconductor industry expressed confidence in India’s progress and showed interest in contributing to the country’s semiconductor journey. He added that AI leaders were impressed by the research and development taking place in India and highlighted that the country’s diversity will play a key role in strengthening its AI capabilities.

Vaishnaw is currently visiting Veldhoven in the Netherlands to understand advanced technologies and explore opportunities for deeper collaboration, which he described as a major opportunity for India.

Earlier, sharing his experience from Davos, the minister said global confidence in India’s economic growth and technology ambitions was clearly visible at the WEF Annual Meeting held from January 19 to 23.

He also said that global logistics company Maersk is working closely with India to improve logistics infrastructure across shipping, ports, railways, and semiconductor materials, highlighting India’s growing role in global supply chains.
