ARR for Emergent surpasses $100 million as demand for vibe coding increases
Emergent Crosses $100 Million ARR Within Eight Months of Launch
Vibe coding startup Emergent has crossed $100 million in annualised revenue run rate (ARR) within just eight months of launch, founder and CEO Mukund Jha said. The company nearly doubled this figure in the past month, marking one of the fastest scale-ups among Indian AI startups.
The growth has been driven by strong adoption of its AI-powered coding platform, now used by more than 50,000 active developers and teams worldwide. Emergent says its tools enable users to build full-stack applications up to 10 times faster—from idea to deployment—fueling rapid word-of-mouth growth and integrations.
In January, Emergent raised $70 million from Khosla Ventures and SoftBank at a $300 million valuation. This brought its total funding to $85 million and supported new features such as collaborative multiplayer editing and one-click deployment pipelines.
The startup operates on a freemium model that has seen strong traction among indie hackers, solopreneurs, and early-stage startups. Paid conversion rates have reached 25% as users move from building prototypes to launching production-ready applications.
A key driver of growth has been Emergent’s “Vibe engine,” which converts natural language prompts into complete codebases with both UI and backend logic. The company has generated over one million lines of production-ready code daily and powered more than 500 live customer applications across fintech, ecommerce, and SaaS sectors.
Jha said the company is currently focused on SMEs and professional consumers, who adopt new technologies quickly. However, enterprise clients are part of the next growth phase. “We already have pilots going on and a ton of incoming interest,” he said.
While some investors worry about an AI bubble, Jha believes the market remains undervalued, pointing to a potential $50 trillion total addressable market. He argued that faster software creation could significantly boost productivity across industries such as drug discovery, longevity research, and space technology.
Emergent competes with global players like Replit and Lovable. Replit, backed by major investors, is reportedly nearing a $9 billion valuation, while Lovable was valued at $6.6 billion after its recent funding round.
On the sidelines of the India AI Impact Summit, Emergent announced the launch of its mobile app for iOS and Android. The app offers full desktop-like functionality, allowing developers to edit code, preview user interfaces in real time, and collaborate remotely.
Looking ahead, the company plans to introduce API access for enterprise integrations, advanced security features including SOC 2 compliance, and support for non-English prompts to attract developers working in Indic languages. Emergent is now among the top 10 global vibe coding platforms by revenue.
