Jensen Huang of Nvidia claims that AI data centers could lead to a job surge similar to that of the Internet era
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang Says AI Infrastructure Could Create Massive Jobs in India
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang believes artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure — particularly large-scale data centres — could generate jobs in India on a scale similar to the internet boom.
Addressing Indian media at a recent press conference, Huang said AI infrastructure development would create employment not only through direct tech roles, but also across construction, supply chains, operations and innovation ecosystems.
“The next wave of industrialisation will be built on AI,” Huang said, describing artificial intelligence as foundational infrastructure for the future economy.
His remarks come as the Union Budget 2026 extended tax holidays until 2047 for foreign companies operating data centres in India — a move expected to attract as much as $200 billion in investments. Major tech giants including Google, Microsoft and Amazon have already committed to expanding their data centre presence in the country.
Beyond tech jobs
Huang emphasized that AI infrastructure growth has a multiplier effect.
Building and running data centres requires:
-
Physical construction
-
Power and energy systems
-
Hardware manufacturing
-
Logistics and supply chains
-
Ongoing operations and maintenance
-
Software and AI innovation
This broader ecosystem, he said, could unlock millions of employment opportunities across skill levels.
Nvidia–Dassault partnership
Separately, Nvidia announced a strategic partnership with France-based Dassault Systèmes at the 3DEXPERIENCE event in Houston.
Through Dassault’s ‘Outscale’ cloud platform, the companies will deploy AI factories powered by Nvidia infrastructure across three continents. These facilities will run advanced AI models and support industrial simulations.
“Together with Dassault Systèmes, we are uniting decades of industrial leadership with Nvidia’s AI and Omniverse platforms to transform how millions of researchers, designers and engineers build the world’s largest industries,” Huang said in a statement.
Nvidia will use Dassault’s model-based systems engineering tools to design the AI factories, beginning with its Rubin platform and integrating into the Omniverse DSX Blueprint.
Dassault Systèmes CEO Pascal Daloz said the collaboration will enable companies to create “industry world models” that combine virtual twins with accelerated computing to design and operate complex systems across biology, materials science, engineering and manufacturing.
India’s AI moment
With supportive policies, global investment and expanding infrastructure, India is positioning itself as a major hub for AI development.
If Huang’s prediction holds true, AI data centres may not only power India’s digital future — but also become one of its biggest job engines.
