According to Bloomberg News, Apple is in negotiations with banks to provide a payment service in India

Apple is reportedly in talks with several Indian banks and global card networks as it prepares to launch its Apple Pay service in India.

According to a report by Bloomberg News, the iPhone maker is holding discussions with major private sector banks including ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, and Axis Bank.

The report, which cited people familiar with the matter, said Apple is aiming to introduce its digital payment service in India around the middle of 2026. The company is also engaging with global card networks as part of its preparation for entering the Indian market.

Apple Pay allows users to make secure payments using their iPhones and other Apple devices, both online and at physical stores.

However, Reuters reported that it could not independently verify Bloomberg’s report.

If launched, Apple Pay would enter India’s fast-growing digital payments sector, where services like UPI-based payments and mobile wallets are already widely used.
